These images are from Chincoteague National
Wildlife Refuge, VA. While several moments stick out in my mind,
the most prevalent would have to be the signs that say do not
feed the wildlife. This was the topic of the day for a close
friend, who is also a photographer. We both laughed all day
about the signs and the fact that people still insisted on feeding
the wildlife. While
we both had the time to take the images that we went to take,
it always seemed someone just had to get in the viewfinder and

touch or offer food to the ponies.
Another interesting fact that I learned that day
was about the color of the lighthouses. I always was under the
impression that the lighthouses are painted different colors
and patterns so that the lighthouse could be recognized during
the day. However, I learned that the lighthouse at the coast
guard station had been painted red so that the sailors could
see it at night, as was explained by a father to his son.
